Bathroom

Whether you’re customizing a new home or renovating an older bathroom, new bath cabinets for your bath vanity can be the focal point that sets the tone and style of the whole room. There are many options to choose from when it comes bathroom cabinets, so take your time and have fun choosing vanity cabinets for your new dream bathroom. On this page we will help you with some useful hints when deciding and choosing bathroom cabinets.

CHOOSING BATH CABINETS:

  1. Measure the space. If you are renovating an existing bathroom, you might be limited to the space at hand unless you plan on knocking out a wall or enlarging the space. If you are working with a brand new bathroom, you will need to decide just how much space you want to devote to your new bathroom cabinets. Measuring the space will help you be aware of how much room you have to work with and what range of vanity sizes you should stay within.
  2. Select the style. Your options include everything from standard rectangular bath wall cabinets to unique bombe chests. Bath vanity cabinets often have numerous styles to choose from (see sample here). You can match the style of your vanity cabinets with the style of the rest of your home, or you can take your bathroom decor in an entirely different direction.
  3. Decide what finish you want. The finish you choose is all about style, looks and design. If you want to make a small bathroom look bigger, select bath cabinets made of light wood or featuring a light-color painted finish. Dark wood and dramatic finishes work well in spacious bathrooms.
  4. Select how many sinks you would like. Master baths often have two sinks, while a guest bath usually has only one. If you have the space, choosing double-sink bath vanity cabinets can help increase the overall value and appeal, not to mention usability, of your home’s bathroom. Even if you choose to have only one sink, you can still increase your home’s value by adding bath wall cabinets and other bathroom storage solutions.
  5. Consider your existing plumbing. If you are renovating or already have plumbing fixtures installed, you can either choose bath cabinets to fit your existing plumbing or you can have your plumbing redone to fit a new cabinet configuration. If you decide to redo your existing plumbing to accommodate a new sort of bathroom vanity cabinet, be sure to calculate the cost of the plumbing into your budget.
